Experience Required:

  • As a minimum the incumbent will hold a HND/HTS/Degree in Engineering or Physical Science or equivalent

 

Operations - Primary accountabilities are:

  • To assist in regular reporting to shore, including Daily Drilling Report. Ensure EDM data base is updated with well status (cement, casing, fluid, ops etc)
  • Monitor and track Performance data, HSE and efficiency
  • Together with the mud and cementing contractor ensure that adequate stocks of bulk, chemicals, LCM etc. materials are available on board the rig to satisfy the requirements of the mud, cementing and other programmes
  • To supervise and monitor the mud contractor in order to keep the mud properties within specifications
  • To model for torque, drag, surge and swab, etc. using WellplanTo model Stuck-pipe and jarring calculations including string stretch and JarSim
  • To monitor and plot directional surveys and MWD data using Compass, in order to keep wellpath according to plan. Monitor anti-collision
  • To monitor drilling parameters
  • To plan and monitor cement jobs to meet the objectives of the drilling programme
  • To control measure casing and tubing, prepare pipe tallies and monitor running of casing, to ensure installation of casing/liner/tubing strings according to programme
  • To provide active technical support to the Drilling Supervisor as required
  • To prepare and gather data for well control kick-sheet
  • To supervise Formation Integrity Tests / leak-off tests / inflow / pressure tests
  • To supervise and monitor the mud logging contractor to obtain a service as specified in contract
  • To ensure, in co-operation with Well-site Geologist, that all evaluation samples are obtained as required and that all information is sent to shore according to the standard reporting scheme
  • To monitor electric wireline runs to ensure log quality as per drilling and well evaluation programme
  • To assist Production Test Supervisor in monitoring production testing and down hole sampling to obtain all information as outlined in test programme
  • To monitor all discharges from the rig and to minimise any impact on the environment
  • Assist with materials, equipment and cost control and reporting
  • Ownership of the Well Status Diagram (WSD) in EDM-Profile with assistance from the DSV when required
  • The WSDE is responsible for the daily reporting and tracking of several aspects of the operation. On platforms, some of these responsibilities are shared with the Night Drilling Supervisor, to provide the WSDE with time to manage logistics. Daily monitoring, tracking and reporting includes:
  • Cuttings volumes
  • Ditch magnet recovery weight
  • Well costs and rig rate
  • HSE statistics
  • Weekly Management and Safety reports utilising the reporting facilities in EDM when possible
