Overview

MCL has an immediate vacancy for a Principal Environmental Engineer for our Oil and Gas client

 

Location:  The role will be based on 5 days a week in the Client Offices in Leatherhead. Hybrid working may be possible with two days remote.

Duration: An initial 9 month contract

 

Rate:  Target limited company rate to man of circa £60.00 per hour

 

The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment

 

Responsibilities

•    As part of a project team, perform all aspects of Working Environment scope area
•    Familiar with prevailing regulations and requirements for environment
•    Evaluations and input to design and deliverables related to environmental Engineering:

o    Environment Management Plan and System
o    Major Environmental Event Register
o    Environmental Impact and Risk Register
o    Environmental Compliance Register
o    Emission and Discharges Inventory
o    Equator Principles Study
o    Environmental Impact Assessment
o    Environmental Impact Mitigation
o    Environment Baseline Study
o    Environmental ALARP
o    Pollution Control Study
o    GHG emission and Carbon Tax Study
o    Carbon Accounting / Energy Efficiency Opportunities Assessment (EEOA)
o    ENVID
o    Chemical exposure
o    Radiation

  • Participate, provide input and facilitate design and construction reviews, with emphasis on environment
  • Provide input to survey-checklist and reports
  • Provide input to internal design specifications and specifications towards suppliers and third parties.
  • Follow-up supplier – quality and timeliness – with respect to environmental engineering deliverables.
  • Close cooperation with other disciplines and departments to ensure working environment requirements are known and implemented in their deliverables.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience from Oil & Gas sector preferred
  • Ideally the candidate will have working-knowledge and experience in LNG
  • Able to undertake any specific area of Environment Engineering scope independently.
  • Skills gained through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including final year design projects and any work placements.
