Overview

MCL require a Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer for our Aberdeen based client

 

Duration:  Minimum 12 months ongoing

 

Location:  Clients offices in Aberdeen (City Centre) - hybrid working is acceptable with 3 days per week in the office / 2 days remote working.

 

Rate:  Circa £60.00 per hour (Ltd Co. rate)

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate all Mechanical engineering activities of a project
  • Make site visits to assist with data collection.
  • Prepare technical data sheet, specifications and tender packages for Mechanical equipment systems, technical selection, calculation, sizing, and evaluation of equipment packages.
  • Ensure design conformance with specifications.
  • Authenticate deliverables as per client and technical jurisdiction requirements.
  • Review vendor designs, submissions, drawings, and mechanical details / calculations for compliance with RFQ documents and Client / Project requirements
  • Direct activities to ensure that fabrication, installation, and operational commissioning meet recognized codes and standards and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with the engineers of other disciplines.
  • Evaluate the desired goal of a system and assist in the design or selection of the appropriate equipment to achieve the project design objectives.
  • Develop Engineering Work Packages
  • Involvement in review and organizational meetings as required.
  • Training / mentoring of other Mechanical Engineers

We are looking for applicants who have a Lead style / autonomous capability with previous Oil and Gas experience onshore and offshore, drilling and topsides engineering preferred

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
• 8+ years of experience working in engineering
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Smart Plant or similar
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
